Importing a car from the US to Nigeria
Nigeria Customs values the car at what a clean one is worth, from its VIN, not at your bid, so the duty doesn't drop if you win it cheaply.

Rules to know
- Nigeria refuses cars more than 12 years old Nigeria Customs refuses used passenger cars more than 12 years from their year of manufacture. Ladar goes by the model year; a car built the year before its model year can be over the limit, so check the build date on the VIN plate for the oldest year allowed.
- Nigeria values the car itself, not your price Customs works out duty from its own VIN-based value of the car, not what you paid. Newer cars (about the last 9 model years) with real accident damage, such as chassis damage or deployed airbags, are reported to get about 30% off after a Customs inspection. Ladar doesn't count on that and uses Copart's retail estimate.
Find cars worth importing to Nigeria. Ladar searches US auctions every day, checks each car's photos for damage and works out its cost delivered, before you bid.
